THE PARISH OF NEVOGILDE
Nevogilde is a parish of the Port since 1895. In the past was an agricultural region, with shepherds, farmers and fishermen. Nevogilde is a parish situated by the sea, has beautiful beaches. Nevogilde has 5257 habitants, in the north is the parish of Aldoar, in south Foz do Douro, east Avenida da Boavista, west oceano atlântico. There is much trade, services and catering, the evolution of the parish due to beach tourism, in Nevogilde built up straight and wide streets with beautiful houses and beautiful gardens. Fields and pine forests disappear, to build buildings and streets.
In summer the beaches are full of people, the evolution of transports contributed to the development of the parish. In the past when it was an agricultural region, it produced corn, wheat, rye, beans, wine, potatoes, the parish cattle exported to England.
